Review Summary of "Ab Delhi Door Nahin" by Vinmics (Sandeep Juyal)

"Ab Delhi Door Nahin." Written by the legend Tarun Kumar Wahi and illustrated by the renowned Dilip Chaubey, this comic piqued interest, especially for those who admire Chaubey's art, reminiscent of his work on "Tiranga."

Cover Art

The cover features the hero surrounded by zombies in colorful attire, giving off a festive vibe. It's an overall good cover, but the festive look of the zombies might not appeal to everyone.

Storyline

The storyline was found to be average. As a genre, zombie stories have been extensively covered in movies, leading to a sense of predictability. The plot revolves around a virus spreading through zombie bites, endangering an entire city. The narrative felt repetitive, lacking the thrill and suspense that a ghost-themed story might offer. The hero, 'Bhootnashak Mantra,' could have been better utilized in a different context.

Artwork

The highlight of the comic is its artwork. The illustrations, filled with nostalgia and vibrant colors, stand out and offer a visual treat. However, the attire of the hero and villain seemed out of place for the year 2032, needing some modernization.

Conclusion

While the story disappointed, the artwork was praised. As the first issue, it holds promise, but there's a desire for fresher and more innovative storytelling in future releases.

Mrityubhoomi: Zombies in the Heart of India

Shamik Dasgupta

Antareep Comics plans to print 'Mrityubhoomi: The Dead Lands Saga Book 1,' a graphic novel created by Shamik Dasgupta. This new series promises a unique spin on the zombie apocalypse genre, set in India.

"Mrityubhoomi" is a story about human resilience in the face of impending annihilation in a post-apocalyptic planet. Unlike most zombie stories set in the United States, Korea, Japan, or Europe, this series delves into the issues and crises that may occur in India, a country noted for its enormous population and tight weapons control laws.

The plot follows Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kolkata) Samrat Mukherjee and his family, which includes his wife Aparna, teenage daughter Ahana, and newborn baby, as they traverse a world devastated by a zombie outbreak. The narrative seeks to depict challenges and threats specific to Indian society.

Antareep Comics has decided to present 'Mrityubhoomi' in black and white grayscale, with artwork by Sumanta Guha. The book will be published initially in Bengali, with English and Hindi versions planned for later distribution. Soumen Chatterjee, Dasgupta's previous colleague, is in charge of the translation. #comics #art #cover #indiancomics
