YDC Graphic Novel "Rakshak" film adaptation
One more Indian superhero movie on the cards. Graphic novel Rakshak that revolves around a vigilante Superhero to be made into a superhero franchise. Director Sanjay Gupta has acquired the rights and will direct it himself towards the end of 2020.
Author Shamik Dasgupta - "So here it is. Our New Year gift to fans of Rakshak and Yali Dream Creations. This is going to be the first graphic novel series in India to be made into a major motion picture and the first published superhero to appear on screen. It is a historic moment for us. My heartfelt thanks to Sanjay sir, Asvin Srivatsangam and Vivek Rangachari for making this dream come true. Lot of work to be done and miles to go, but this is a major achievement not just for me and YDC but Indian comics as whole. Too long we have been ignored and staying in the borderline of niche but soon our time to shine will come. Carpe Diem!"
